Missouri Valley Vet's three locations are full service animal practices. Missouri Valley Vet will take emergency cases as well as less urgent medical, surgical, and dental issues for small, large, and exotic creatures.

  • Dr.
    Shawna Rice

    Dr Shawna received a B.S. in biology and a B.A. in chemistry from Adams State College in Alamosa Colorado in 2000. She graduated with her DVM from Colorado State University in 2004. She is married to Tim and they have twin sons Seth and Dalton. The family has 3 dogs (Goose, Rizzy, and Ben) and 2 cats (Winston and Quigley). Dr. Shawna enjoys watching football and basketball, music, traveling, and camping. Her professional interests are small animal internal medicine and oncology. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, and the Veterinary Cancer Society.

    Tonya Voigt

    Dr. Tonya received a B.S. in Biology at South Dakota State University in 2001 and Graduated from Iowa State University in 2005 with her DVM. She is married to Dr Russ Voigt. They have 2 daughters (Sophia and Evalyn), 2 dogs (Jerry and Lena), 9 cats ( Rusty, Berleous, Onyx, Vera, Kevin, Jewel, Toulouse, Steve, and Thunder), and 7 Quarter horses (Abby, Zelda, Stubbs, Hank, Peaches, Chavez, and Sierra). Dr. Tonya enjoys drawing, painting, reading, snow skiing, hiking, camping, and horseback riding. Her professional interests are small mammal and exotic medicine, small animal medicine, and soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. She is a member of the following associations; American Veterinary Medical Association, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.

    Russel Voigt

    Dr. Russ received a B.S. in Animal Science in 1998 from North Dakota State University, graduated from Iowa State University in 2005 with his DVM, and completed an internship specializing in Equine medicine and surgery at Idaho Equine Hospital. He is married to Dr. Tonya Voigt. They have 2 daughters (Sophia and Evalyn), 2 dogs (Jerry, Lena), 9 cats (Rusty, Berleous, Onyx, Vera, Kevin, Jewel, Toulouse, Steve, and Thunder) and 7 Quarter horses (Abby, Zelda, Stubbs, Hank, Peaches, Joey, Chavez, and Sierra), He enjoys snowboarding and horseback riding. His professional interests are equine surgery, medicine, and lameness. He is a member of the following associations; American Association of Equine Practitioners, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Animal Hospital Association.

    Daphne Hall

    Dr. Daphne completed her pre-veterinary studies at North Dakota State University in 1985 and received her DVM from Iowa State University in 1989. She and her husband, Marcus, lived in Duluth, MN for many years, and owned a small veterinary practice there. In 2009, they fulfilled a longtime desire to move to Bismarck and build a home on the prairie. They enjoy watching sunsets from their porch alongside their dog, Finn, who shares their attention with a house cat, Nettie, 4 barn cats, chickens, and 6 horses. Dr. Daphne enjoys hiking, nature photography (especially sunsets), horseback riding, beading, and the 'zen' of fixing fences. Her primary professional interest is small animal wellness care with an emphasis on behavior concerns and geriatric issues. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Animal Hospital Association, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, and the Minnesota Veterinary Medical Association.

    Matt Heeb

    Dr. Matt graduated with a B.S. in Animal Science from South Dakota State University in 2002 and received his DVM in 2006 from Iowa State University. He is married to Shara and they have one son (Gavin). They have one dog (Ruger), one cat (Hadji), and 2 Quarter Horse geldings (Kool and Wyatt). Dr. Matt enjoys hunting. His professional interest is emergency medicine. Dr. Matt is a member of the following associations; American Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association.

    Angie Bettenhausen

    Dr. Angie received a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Concordia College in 2005 and graduated from Iowa State University with her DVM in 2009. She and her significant other (Justin) have 6 cats (Rowdy, Gerda, Bruce, The Colonel Jeremiah Gunpowder West, Higgins, and Vlad) 1 Chinchilla (Sophia), and some chickens. Dr. Angie loves plants and gardening. Her professional interests are pocket pets, and small animal medicine and wellness. She is a member of the following associations; American Veterinary Medical Association, and the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association.

    Tyler Bennett

    Dr. Tyler received a B.S. in Zoology from North Dakota State University (Go Bison!) in 2006 and graduated in 2011 with a DVM from University of Glasgow  in Glasgow Scotland. He is married to Annie and they have 2 daughters (Piper & Gemma), 1 dog (Ernie), and 2 cats (Douglas and Pete). Dr. Tyler enjoys hunting, golfing, running, and biking. His professional interests are large and small animal reproduction. He is a member of the following associations; American Veterinary Medical Association, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

    Vicki Riveland

    Dr. Vicki received a B.S. in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry from North Dakota State University in 2008 and graduated with her DVM from Iowa State University in 2012. She is married to Shaun and they have 4 children (Jaron, Eliana, Samara, and Tobin). They also have 2 cats (Jobi and Cayenne), a dog (Kya), and a hamster (Gingy). Dr. Vicki enjoys fishing, camping, horseback riding, and drawing. Her professional interests are ophthalmology, small animal medicine, and surgery. She is a member of the following associations; American Veterinary Medical Association and the North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association.

    Margo Kunz

    Dr. Margo received her B.S. in Animal Science from Montana State University Bozeman in 1992 and graduated from Oregon State in 1996 with her DVM. She is married to Ron. They have 3 daughters (Brooke, Bridget, Baily), 5 cats (Micky, Tinkerbell, Willie, Chloe, Polly), 2 dogs (Hunter and Blue), and many goats, horses, and cows. Dr Margo enjoys gardening, anything with horses, raising goats, and helping her daughters with whatever they have going on. Her professional interests include chiropractic care and acupuncture. She is a member of the following associations; American Veterinary Medical Association, North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, and  the American Association of Equine Practitioners.

    Kristen Klein

    Dr. Kristen received a B.S. in Animal Science from North Dakota State University and graduated from Kansas State University in 2010 with her DVM. After receiving her DVM, Dr. Kristen continued into an internship specializing in equine medicine and surgery at Idaho Equine Hospital. She is married to Dr. Ty and they have 2 children (Kallie and Kasen). They also have 1 dog (Spark), 3 cats (Thelma and Moustache), and a horse (Turbo).  She enjoys painting, running, fishing, horseback riding, and spending time with family. Her professional interests are small animal medicine and surgery, and equine medicine. She is a member of the following associations; North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, and the American Association of Equine Practitioners.

    Ty Klein

    Dr. Ty received a B.S. in Animal Science from North Dakota State University.  He was the NDSU Beef Herdsman after he graduated until he entered veterinary college in 2006.   He received his DVM from Kansas State University in 2010. Dr. Ty continued into an internship specializing in equine medicine and surgery at Idaho Equine Hospital. He is married to Dr. Kristen and they have 2 children (Kallie and Kasen). They also have 1 dog (Spark), 3 cats (Thelma and Moustache), and a horse (Turbo). He enjoys hunting, fishing, and horseback riding. His professional interests are equine lameness, equine medicine and surgery, bovine medicine, and small animal medicine.  He is a member of the following associations; North Dakota Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners.
